A woman was arrested last week for possession of a loaded firearm and drugs, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.

The report stated the county sheriff’s officer stopped a vehicle driven by Jennifer L. Phillips, 52 of the town of Groton, on Fairview Drive in the town of Cortlandville for a traffic infraction.

Phillips had a warrant out for her arrest, the report noted. Shortly thereafter, she was found to be in possession of the loaded firearm and a controlled substance.

Phillips was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a Class-C Felony) and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (a Class-A Misdemeanor). She was arraigned, processed and released on one’s own recognizance. She is due to appear in Cortlandville town court on Feb. 8.
