Cortland-Homer ice hockey rises in state rankings (Information Included)

The Cortland-Homer ice hockey team rose in this week’s New York State Sportswriters Association’s state rankings.

The Golden Eagles moved from sixth last week, to fifth this week in Division II.

Cortland-Homer finished its regular season with a 16-3 record. The Golden Eagles are projected to be seeded No. 2 in the Section III Division II Tournament.

Details on who Cortland-Homer’s first opponent will be in sectionals is to be determined, following the completion of sectional qualifier games on Tuesday. Check back with the Cortland Voice for details on the Division II bracket.

Other Section III Division I teams state-ranked are Skaneateles at No. 3 and CBA/J-D tied for 20th. Division I squads include Baldwinsville at No. 9 and West Genesee at No. 10.
