The Homer, Cortland, and Marathon varsity wrestling teams competed in their respective sectional championship tournaments on Saturday (February 11th).
Homer and Cortland competed in the Section III Division II Championships, while Marathon competed in the Section IV Division II Championships.
Homer Wrestling
The Homer Trojans competed in the Section III Division II Sectional Championships at the Onondaga Community College SRC Arena.
The Trojans placed 12th as a team overall out of 29 competing teams.
Note: According to Homer head coach Jason Reynolds, last year’s 110 lbs state champion Talan Hubbard has been out due to injury since the Section III Dual Championships. Therefore, he was not able to compete in the sectional tournament.
Homer senior Sam Sorenson won 1st place in the 215 lbs weight class. He will be competing in the state tournament at the Times Union Center in Albany on Friday (February 24th).

Marathon Wrestling
The Marathon Olympians competed in the Section IV Division II Sectional Championships at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton

The Olympians ended up placing 9th overall as a team out of 24 competing teams.
Logan Jamison qualified to participate in the state tournament after placing 2nd overall in the 285 lbs weight class in the sectional tournament. The tournament is scheduled to take place at the Times Union Center in Albany on Friday (February 24th).
