Warm temperatures will be the primary story today, though it will also be breezy with a few stray showers from time to time.

The two main times showers will be possible will be early this morning as a warm front continues to move through, and again this evening as a subtle cold front drops south through the area.

In both cases, the rain will be very sporadic, and what does fall will be light. Most areas will see little to no rainfall at all.

For much of the daytime hours, however, skies will be a mix of sun and clouds with near-zero rain chances.

South winds will increase through the morning, topping out in the afternoon with speeds of 10-15 mph and gusts of 30-35 mph. The strongest gusts will be over the higher elevations of the northern part of the county. Late in the afternoon, the wind will turn a bit more southwesterly.

Soaring temperatures will flirt with 60 degrees this afternoon. This level of warmth in February occurs roughly once every five years.

Evening temperatures will initially drop to around 50 degrees, then will drop through the 40s behind the cold front. By Thursday morning, temperatures should be in the upper 30s with partly cloudy skies.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Some morning sun. Afternoon rain showers. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon temperatures near 50 with evening temperatures in the mid 50s.

Friday: Windy with a few snow showers. Temperatures drop to the mid 30s near dawn, then continue to drop to the upper 20s in the afternoon.
