The Cortland-Homer ice hockey team, the No. 2 seed in the Section III Division II Tournament, will receive a bye into the semifinal round.

The Golden Eagles will face either sixth-seeded New Hartford or third-seeded CBA/J-D in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the J.M. McDonald Sports Complex. The Spartans and Brothers square off at 7 p.m. today.

Cortland-Homer, ranked fifth in the state in Division II, is looking to return to the sectional final. The squad lost 4-0 to Skaneateles in last year’s Division II title game.

Skaneateles, ranked third in the state and the top seed in the Division II playoffs, will also receive a bye into the semis. They await the winner of fifth-seeded Whitesboro and fourth-seeded Clinton, which is slated for today at 7:30 p.m.
