The village and town of Homer are holding a combined food drive in the area until Feb. 28, village deputy mayor Pat Clune announced at Tuesday’s Board of Trustees meeting.

Each municipality is looking for individuals to donate canned food, pastas, pre-packaged pastas (including mac & cheese, rice), or other rice products for the Homer food pantry, which is at the Country Acres Animal Shelter on West Scott Road.

All food and canned goods can be dropped off at either the Homer Town Hall at 31 N. Main St., the Homer Police Station at 43 James St., and the Homer Fire Station at 45 S. Main St.

Clune noted once the drive finishes at the end of the month, the town and village will conduct a joint presentation on the food and canned goods collected. All of the items, he added, will stay within the communities.
