The section IV varsity basketball regular season recently ended, and both Marathon’s boys and girls basketball teams qualified for their respective sectional tournaments.
Here are the upcoming Section IV tournament matchups for each both Marathon’s boys and girls teams:
Marathon Girls Basketball
The Marathon Lady Olympians will be the 6th-seed in the Section IV Class D Sectional Tournament, after ending the regular season with an 11-9 record.
UPDATE: According to Section IV, the Lady Olympians are now scheduled to host 11th-seed Laurens Central in the first round of the tournament this Thursday (February 23rd) at 6pm. (Note: the game was previously scheduled to take place on February 22nd, but it was moved due to inclement weather conditions).

Marathon Boys Basketball
The Marathon Olympians will be the 8th-seed in the Section IV Class D Sectional Tournament.
Marathon ended the regular season with an 9-11 record.
According to Section IV, the Olympians are scheduled to host 10th-seed Sharon Springs in the first round of the tournament on Tuesday (February 21st) at 6pm.
