A Cortland County man was arrested last week for trespassing and breaking into a home in the town of Cortlandville, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.

Jason D. Belt, 44 of Cortland, damaged an exterior door and entered the residence “unlawfully,” the report noted. The County sheriff’s office did not provide further details as to why Belt was in the residence.

Belt was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a Class-A Misdemeanor. He was arraigned, processed, released and is now due to appear in Cortlandville town court at a later date.
