Firefighters put out Homer house fire

Firefighters recently put out a house on Haights Gulf Road in the town of Homer, according to a post from the Homer Fire Department.

The house fire occurred around 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Firefighters got it under control and put it out shortly thereafter. The post noted units from Homer, Truxton, Cortlandville and McGraw were on scene until around midnight.

According to a post from the Truxton Fire Department, the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire. As of Friday morning, the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the New York state office of fire prevention and control.

Also providing assistance at the scene were the TLC emergency medical services, the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and the town of Homer highway department.
