A Cortland County man was arrested earlier this week for violating an order of protection, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.
The report stated that Michael C. Palmer, of Cortland, was texting an individual while a full stay-away order of protection was in place. This came after county sheriff’s officers responded to a harassment complaint in the town of Freetown.
Palmer was arrested at the County Sheriff’s Office and charged with first-degree criminal contempt (a Class-E Felony). Palmer was previously convicted of second-degree criminal contempt for an unrelated matter.
Palmer was arraigned, released and now due to appear in Freetown town court this upcoming Wednesday.
