Snow and mixed precipitation from overnight will continue this morning, gradually tapering off and ending during the middle of the day.

An additional inch or two of snow will be possible in some areas, while others see mostly sleet or rain. Elevation will play a role in the precipitation type, and the impacts this morning will vary from place to place across the complex terrain of the county.

As the precipitation begins to let up and draws to an end during the midday hours, temperatures will rise and road conditions will greatly improve.

There may even be a little sunshine before the day ends, if the clearing makes it in before sunset. Regardless, this evening should be mostly clear for a time before new clouds build in for the overnight.

Temperatures will be near freezing this morning but will rise into the upper 30s to near 40 degrees this afternoon. With the clear evening skies, it will be a quick drop into the 20s after sunset.

Southeast winds will remain blustery this morning and will gradually to the south. Wind speeds of 10-15 mph area likely, with gusts over 30 mph possible, especially over higher elevations.

The wind will turn to the west, then northwest this afternoon and speeds will drop to around 5 mph. Evening winds will be more westerly with speeds near 5 mph early, but becoming calm for the late evening and early overnight.

One more wind shift will take place after midnight, with a light southeasterly breeze developing. Overnight lows will make it down to around 20 degrees with colder pockets in the 10s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a few rain and snow showers. Morning lows around or under 20 degrees. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Friday: Snow likely, possibly significant. Morning lows near 20. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Saturday: A few early flurries. Maybe some late sun. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.
