Cortland girls basketball enters sectional final as a state-ranked squad

The Cortland varsity girls basketball team will enter Saturday’s Class B final as a state-ranked team.

According to this week’s New York State Sportswriters Association’s rankings, the Purple Tigers moved up from No. 21 to No. 18 in Class B. 

Cortland, the third seed in the Class B tournament, will face fourth-seeded Westhill in the sectional championship game at 3 p.m. Saturday at Onondaga Community College. The Warriors are state-ranked at No. 20 in Class B.
