The village of Homer announced on Wednesday that a test run of new office hours will be conducted this month, according to a release.
The village office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. On Friday, however, the village office will have open hours between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The village’s new hours will correspond with the town of Homer office, giving both municipalities the same hours.
The village noted in the release that the office is currently short-staffed. With the cutback in hours, staff members will use the time for office work.
The test run in office hours will be re-evaluated at the Board of Trustees meeting on March 28. If the change in office hours remains permanent, the village office will be open 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. on the last Friday of each month to ensure it is open for deadlines.
