A northwesterly flow will keep temperatures cool and skies cloudy for most of today.

The northwest winds will be lighter than yesterday with speeds of 5-10 mph and gusts no higher than 25 mph. The winds will be strongest during the late morning and early afternoon before weakening late in the day.

Thick clouds are expected this morning and into the afternoon. Late in the day, some of the clouds may start to break up a bit. A few glimpses of sunshine will be possible, but it probably will not become fully sunny out.

Temperatures will nose a degree or two higher than yesterday with highs mainly around 30 degrees. A few of the hilltops in the northern parts of the county may stick to the upper 20s.

Tonight, there will be a small window for clearing skies before new clouds ahead of the next weather system begin to move in. Temperatures will have a chance to drop into the 10s this evening, depending on how long the clearing lasts.

Winds will become nearly calm overnight as the clouds begin to increase. Temperatures will likely bottom out in the mid 10s, but some colder pockets will be possible.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Cloudy. Snow arrives late and persists overnight. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Saturday: Lingering snow showers. Some late sun possible. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Sunday: Clouds and some sun. Morning lows in the low 10s with colder pockets. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Monday: Periods of snow possible, especially in the afternoon. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
