Snow will taper off this morning as low pressure pulls away from the area.

Periods of steady but light snow are likely to persist this morning but will gradually taper off to flurries. The snow should come to an end during the midday or perhaps early afternoon hours.

On top of what fell overnight, another inch or two will fall today.

Road conditions will gradually improve, especially this afternoon. Skies will remain mostly cloudy, but a little late day sun may poke through from time to time.

Temperatures will hold around or just above 30 degrees this morning, then rise toward the mid 30s after the snow ends this afternoon.

Winds will be from the north and northwest, increasing to around 10 mph this afternoon. Lighter northwest winds are expected this evening, with nearly calm winds overnight.

Evening temperatures will quickly drop through the 20s with 10s overnight. Pockets of single digits are possible, especially if skies clear for any significant period of time.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Increasing and thickening clouds. Morning lows in the mid 10s with colder pockets. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Monday: Periods of snow, mostly light until late in the day. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Tuesday: Windy with snow likely, though amounts remain highly uncertain. Morning lows around 30. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Wednesday: Windy with lake effect snow possible. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.
