Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, March 12, 2023:

The daytime hours will be quiet today before some light snow showers move in tonight.

Skies will be cloudy throughout the day, but through the morning hours, some sunshine may filter through thinner clouds. These clouds will thicken for the afternoon, leaving skies gray.

No precipitation is expected during the daytime hours, but some light snow will arrive during the evening. The snow may fall steadily through the evening and overnight, but only a light coating is expected.

Winds today will be light with speeds mostly under 5 mph. For the morning hours, the wind direction will be variable. By the afternoon, the wind will stabilize with a southerly direction.

Wind speeds will increase to just over 5 mph this evening and jog slightly to the southeast. Top gusts will be near or under 15 mph.

Afternoon highs will climb into the upper 30s and evening temperatures will stick to the mid 30s. Overnight lows will eventually make their way down to near or just below the freezing point in the low 30s.

Monday: Periods of snow, mostly light until late in the day. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Tuesday: Windy with snow. Moderate to heavy accumulations possible. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Wednesday: Windy with lingering morning snow showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Thursday: Clouds and some sun. Morning lows around 20. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
