Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, March 13, 2023:

The weather will be unsettled today but will have few impacts until after sunset. Much more significant winter weather is on the way for Tuesday.

Light snow will fall throughout the day, mixing with some rain at times from the late morning through the afternoon.

Temperatures will rise into the mid and possibly even upper 30s, keeping roads clear and accumulations limited to perhaps a light dusting over higher elevations.

Winds will be from the southeast at near or just over 5 mph. Gusts will come in near or under 15 mph.

The snow may taper off for a time in the late afternoon or early evening, but will become steady again and increase in intensity from there. Several inches will be possible overnight with much more coming on Tuesday.

Winds will turn to the northwest after midnight and increase to around 10 mph. Stronger winds are also expected on Tuesday.

Nighttime temperatures should remain around 30 degrees.

Tuesday: Windy with snow. Moderate to heavy accumulations likely. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Wednesday: Windy with lingering morning snow showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Thursday: Clouds and some filtered sun. Morning lows in the low 20s.  Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Friday: Cloudy with a few late rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
