The nor’easter responsible for yesterday’s snow is quickly pulling away from the region.

Snow directly from the storm has already departed the area, but some lingering lake effect in its wake will keep some snow showers around this morning.

There should be little if any additional snow accumulation, with just an inch or two at most coming if the snow lingers long enough.

It will be another windy day, however. Northwest winds will gust to around 35 mph today. Areas of blowing and drifting snow and perhaps a few sporadic power outages will be possible.

High temperatures will be in the low 30s today, so conditions on untreated surfaces will be slow to improve.

Some late day sun will be possible with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies during the evening. This could allow temperatures to quickly cool into the low 20s and upper 10s.

An increase in clouds overnight and a shift in the winds to the south will slow the drop in temperature with overnight lows in the mid and upper 10s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Mostly cloudy. Lighter winds and warmer. Morning lows in the mid and upper 10s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Friday: Cloudy with rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Morning lows in the upper 20s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy. A few snow showers. Morning lows in the low 10s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 20s.
