Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, March 16, 2023:

Warmer weather will build into the region today with quiet conditions.

Winds turned to the southwest overnight and will blow steadily, but lightly from the southwest throughout the day. Wind speeds will be just over 5 mph with gusts no higher than 20 mph.

This will bring in some warmer air, and some sunshine mixing in will help temperatures along.

The sunshine today will be limited, though, with clouds plentiful for much of the time.

Nonetheless, high temperatures should make it into the mid 40s this afternoon.

Clouds will increase and thicken tonight with southwest winds persisting. After midnight, the wind direction will turn to the south, and possibly southeast by dawn.

Temperatures will remain in the mid 30s during the nighttime hours. A few rain showers will be possible, especially between midnight and dawn.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Cloudy with rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Some late snow showers Morning lows in the mid 20s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy. A few snow showers, mostly early. Morning lows in the mid 10s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 20s.

Monday: Sun and a few clouds. Morning lows in the low 10s.  Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
