A weather system will pass through today with some steady precipitation, but this system will be all wet and no white.

Rain showers will spread across the area this morning and persist for much of the day. There will be some occasional breaks in the rain, especially in the mid-afternoon hours.

The rain will mostly be light with rain amounts between one-quarter and one-half an inch. Even with additional water running into the streams from snowmelt, flooding is not expected.

Temperatures will remain mild, even with the rain. Look for afternoon highs to top out in the mid 40s.

There will be some wind, but nothing too strong. The wind will come in from the south, with speeds of 5-10 mph. The strongest winds will be over the hilltops in the northern portions of the county.

Winds will turn to the west behind a final band of rain this evening. Some briefly gusty winds may accompany the shift, along with a quick drop in temperature to the mid 30s.

It will remain mostly quiet through the overnight with just a small chance for a stray flurry here or there. Nighttime temperatures will continue to fall and should end up in the mid 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Some late snow showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Sunday: Windy and chilly. Mostly cloudy. A few snow showers, mostly early. Morning lows in the mid 10s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 20s.

Monday: Sun and a few clouds. Morning lows in the mid 10s.  Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid 10s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
