High pressure centered over the southeastern United States will dominate our weather today.

Skies will be mostly clear throughout the day. The best chance for a few thin clouds will come late in the day, with a gradual increase in clouds this evening and overnight.

With the high pressure centered well to our south, the clockwise flow of air around and out from the high pressure center will result in southwest winds today.

The southwest winds will blow steadily throughout the day and nighttime hours with speeds of 5-10 mph. Top gusts will come during the afternoon at around 25 mph.

Between the sunshine and southwest winds, temperatures will be vastly different from yesterday. Look for highs to make it into the mid 40s with a few warmer pockets possible.

Tonight, temperatures will quickly fall through the 30s during the evening. As clouds increase, the temperature will slow its fall and should end up in the mid 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: A mix of sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 20s.  Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. Morning lows in the mid 20s.  Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Thursday: Rain showers. Morning lows in the upper 30s.  Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Friday: Mostly cloudy. Maybe some late rain and/or snow. Morning lows in the upper 20s.  Afternoon highs near 40.
