Low pressure will move through the area today with rain showers and some breezy winds.

One batch of rain will move through the area early this morning. Occasional rain showers will be likely until the mid-morning, after which they should taper off.

A lull in the precipitation is likely from the late morning through the early afternoon. Skies will remain mostly cloudy during this time, though.

Southwest winds will become strongest at this time with speeds around 10 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph. High temperatures will also occur during this lull in the mid 50s.

Rain will move back in during the mid-afternoon and continue on and off into the early evening. A few briefly heavier periods are possible, and a rumble of thunder cannot be totally ruled out.

The rain will come to an end during the evening hours with total rain amounts between a quarter and half an inch.

Winds will swing around to the northwest late in the afternoon and persist through the nighttime hours. Cooler air will build in and a stray flurry will be possible after midnight.

By Friday morning, temperatures should be down into the mid 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Cloudy. Maybe a stray flurry early. Morning lows in the mid 20s.  Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Saturday: Some morning snow or ice possible before turning to rain showers. Morning lows near 30.  Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Sunday: Windy. Mostly cloudy. Morning lows in the low 30s.  Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Monday: Mostly cloudy. Some evening and overnight rain or snow. Morning lows in the mid 20s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
