Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, March 27, 2023:

A small area of low pressure will track across northern Pennsylvania today, placing Cortland County in the narrow path of its precipitation.
The morning will be cloudy and quiet with southeast and east winds out ahead of the low. These will be light winds with speeds around 5 mph.
Temperatures will climb through the morning to a high in the mid 40s during the midday and early afternoon. At about the same time, rain should start to move in from the west.
Winds will turn to the northeast, then north through the afternoon as the low moves by. Colder air will start to be pulled into the low, causing afternoon temperatures to drop through the 40s and into the 30s.
By the late afternoon, rain will start to turn to snow. Steady snow will fall well into the evening hours before coming to an end overnight.
At first, the snow may not even stick to the grass well. As temperatures fall in the afternoon, grassy surfaces will start to see some minor accumulations.
After sunset, the accumulations will increase on gassy surfaces, and some roads may start to see a slight coating.
These processes will all take place quicker over higher elevations and lesser traveled, untreated roadways. Higher traffic and treated roadways will probably just remain wet, even after sunset.
Accumulations will range from an inch or two over lower elevations to a few inches in the hills.
Temperatures will be near or just above freezing during the evening hours and should slip into the upper 20s overnight.

Tuesday: Periods of clouds and periods of sun. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
Wednesday: Early sun, then increasing clouds. Some light nighttime snow. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
Thursday: A few clouds early and late. Otherwise, sunny. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
Friday: Mostly cloudy with occasional rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
