Construction on Main Street in the city of Cortland will enter its fourth week this upcoming Monday.

Construction on Main Street is the city’s continuation of its Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) projects. Cortland started working on projects last year.

According to the Crown City Rising website, construction crews next week will continue to replace water mains along the west side of Main Street at the intersection of West Court, Court and Main Streets.

This particular project will require the closure of West Court Street at the Main Street intersection on Monday and Tuesday.

According to the updates, the temporary closure of West Court Street could be extended based on weather and other drawbacks. Individuals are advised to seek alternative routes during this time.

Construction work in this area means parking along the west side of Main Street from Orchard Street to West Court Street will be affected. Individuals are recommended to park in the Groton Avenue lot, as well as parking on Haskell Place. Additional parking options are available in the Port Watson lot and near the Cortland fire station.

Other project updates include the continuation of vault work on both sides of Main Street. This could require intermittent sidewalk closures.

For more information or suggestions to alternative routes, go to the Crown City Rising website. A full layout of Cortland’s DRI projects can be seen here.
