Cooler weather will move back into the region today, though temperatures will still be near or slightly above average.

Rain showers will be likely this morning as a cold front moves through the area. The rain will gradually taper off during the late morning and midday hours.

Much of the afternoon will be dry, but a few more rain showers will be possible, especially late in the day. A few rain showers will continue to be possible into the evening and overnight hours.

Winds will be light and variable for much of the day but will turn to the southwest and increase to around 10 mph during the late afternoon. These winds will only last a few hours before more light and variable winds at night.

Temperatures will be cool through the midday hours, possibly sticking to the 40s until afternoon. A quick warm up will then take place, especially if some sun can break through the clouds. Mid and upper 50s are possible by the mid to late afternoon.

Evening temperatures will fall back through the 40s and should end up in the upper 30s by Tuesday morning.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Cloudy with showers and maybe some early morning and evening flurries. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. Maybe an early flurry or shower. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Friday: Clouds, some sun, and a few showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
