A cooler airmass has built into the region today and will lead to some daytime heating showers this afternoon.

Sunshine is likely to start the day, but as the sun begins to heat the surface, fair weather clouds will quickly bubble up during the mid and late morning hours.

By midday, the sky should be mostly overcast, and during the afternoon, stray showers will be possible. Most of these showers will be light and sporadic, but a few broader areas of light rain will be possible if some of the showers combine.

The rain showers will quickly dissipate late in the afternoon as the daytime heating is lost, but a few stray showers could linger into the early evening hours.

Skies will gradually clear out again tonight, allowing for some cool overnight temperatures.

Daytime highs will be in the low 50s, with a quick drop through the 40s this evening. Overnight lows will be in the mid, possibly low 30s.

Today will be much less windy than yesterday. Northwest winds will blow at speeds just over 5 mph with gusts peaking around 20 mph. Nighttime winds will turn westerly and drop under 5 mph.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Clouds, some sun, and a few showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Tuesday: Clouds, some sun, and a few showers. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Wednesday: Another day of clouds, some sun, and a few showers. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.
