The Cortland Purple Tigers are no longer undefeated after losing their first game of the regular season against Jamesville-Dewitt.

The score was 6-15, and the Purple Tigers now have an overall record of 8-1.

“I think that we learned that everyone wants to come down here and beat Cortland,” said Cortland head coach Ben Albright. “We have a target on our backs. Jamesville-Dewitt came down here ready to play, and I think we let them dictate the tempo of the game.”

“Our frustration got to us,” added coach Albright. “Our mentality was not where it needed to be. I think we were a little bit negative, and played that way. Our body language was not what we needed it to be. When you face adversity, you have to be able to bounce back from it. We talked about that today, and hopefully tomorrow we can change that and get after it.”
