The Cortland Lady Purple Tigers won a close outing against Fulton with a score of 2-1 at the Gutchess Lumbers Sports Complex Tuesday evening.

“It was a well played game both ways,” said Cortland head coach James Hogan. “Their pitcher threw strikes, and our pitcher threw strikes. Their team is fundamentally sound, and our team made fundamentally sound plays.”

“Madalyn Thompson made a great game saving diving catch in the outfield with two outs,” added coach Hogan. “Aliza McCormick made a great catch in the left field, Mallory Turner played great at second base, and on offense we got some great timely hits when we needed them.”

With the win, Cortland improved their overall record to 8-2.
