COVID transmission in Cortland County remains low; recap of weekend numbers

Here is a breakdown of recent COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.

The county health department reported on Friday that the level of COVID-19 transmission in the county is currently low.

As of April 27, there have been 13,685 recorded positive cases, over 950 hospitalizations (4 currently hospitalized) and 137 deaths (one new death) in the county. According to the state, the current daily average of positive tests among county residents is 0.6%. The weekly average of cases per 100K is 1.8.

The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated that are 5 years-or-older is 61.4%. Additional numbers show that 61.2% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
