Low pressure will meander through the region today, bringing more cool, unsettled weather.

Steady precipitation moved in overnight and will continue this morning. Any snow that is falling early on will gradually turn back over to rain.

The rain should then taper off during the midday and early afternoon hours.

Some scattered showers will continue to be possible for the rest of the afternoon and into the evening and overnight hours. Once the steady rain moves out, though, there will probably be more time without precipitation than with.

Winds will be from the northwest today as the low pressure system slowly makes its way into New England. The wind will be light, with speeds near or just over 5 mph. Top gusts will be around 15 mph.

Temperatures will be well below average for early May with highs only in the mid 40s. Evening temperatures will drop back to around 40 degrees with mid 30s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: A few showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Friday: Clouds, some sun, and a few last showers. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Dry. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs around 60.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
