Updates were provided on construction projects in the city of Cortland, which continued on Monday and will do so going forward.

Construction on Main Street is the city’s continuation of its Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) projects. Cortland started working on projects last year.

According to Crown City Rising, construction crews will continue installing sewer laterals along the west side of Main Street between Court and Tompkins Streets.

Aside from the sewer laterals, crews will also install new water mains in the same area. This work will close the city’s parking lot entrance between Marketplace Mall and Cortland’s Veterans of Foreign Wars building, and on-street parking on the west side of Main Street between Court Street and Clayton Avenue.

Traffic on Main Street will be reduced to one lane during this construction work.

Another project for crews includes vault work along each side of Main Street. This may require intermittent sidewalk closures.
