Two arrests were made at a gas station in Cortland County over the weekend, according to reports.

The report stated that county sheriff’s officers responded to the Speedway gas station in Polkville (Town of Cortlandville) on Sunday for an individual who stole merchandise.

Jason M. Hyde, 42, of Cortlandville who stole the merchandise, was located in a vehicle that was still at the gas station.

Hyde was in the vehicle with Nicole J. Gibson, 37, of the town of Richford. Hyde and Gibson were both found to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of drugs – including methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine.

Hyde was charged with petit larceny (a Class-A Misdemeanor), third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (a Class-B Felony) and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (a Class-D Felony).

Gibson was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (a Class-B Felony) and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (a Class-D Felony).

Both were processed and arraigned. Hyde was sent to Cortland County Jail without bail. Gibson, however, was released on one’s own recognizance.

Both are scheduled to appear in Cortlandville town court at 11:30 a.m. May 17.
