The Marathon Olympians hosted Trumansburg at the Maple Hill Golf Course on senior night Thursday afternoon.

Seniors Samuel Castellot, Kaiden Cornell, and Drew Rozewski were recognized at yesterday’s match.

“My three seniors are excellent kids and excellent players,” said Marathon head coach Sydney Jennison. “They all try their best. One of them (Drew Rozewski) just picked up golf this season, and he has really caught on to the game really fast. Kaiden and Sam have been doing it since 7th grade, and I am glad that they stuck with it. They've all been a pleasure to have on the team.”

According to coach Jennison, Marathon won the match due to Trumansburg not having a full roster to record a team score. Marathon ended up recording a team score of 210 in yesterday’s match.

Here are the individual results from each team:

Marathon

Trumansburg

  • Nico Potenza - 42
  • Jack Linskens - 56
  • Miles Maguire - 67

Marathon’s next match will be played at the Maple Hill Golf Course against Groton on Monday (May 15th) at 3:30pm.

According to coach Jennison the Olympians have also qualified to compete in the Class D team sectional tournament, which will be played at SUNY Delhi on Monday (May 22nd) at 9am.
