High pressure will build in for a pleasant day today.

Skies will have plenty of sunshine, though some clouds will mix in at times. First, very early this morning, as clouds depart behind yesterday’s weather system. Second, this afternoon, when puffy fair-weather clouds bubble up in the daytime heating.

There is a very, very minute chance for a brief, stray shower this afternoon should some of those fair-weather clouds grow large enough.

Even if it did rain, only a small portion of the area would see the rain, and it would only last a few minutes, probably not even fully wetting the pavement.

Winds will be from the northwest with speeds up to 10 mph. Top gusts on the day should be from 20-25 mph. The wind will become nearly calm this evening.

Afternoon high temperatures will be around 70 degrees. Higher elevations will be just shy of 70, and lower elevations should be at or just over 70.

Tonight, temperatures will quickly fall through the 60s and 50s during the evening hours. Overnight lows should end up in the mid 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Sunny with some afternoon fair weather clouds and a small chance for a stray shower. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Tuesday: Sunny with some afternoon fair weather clouds and a small chance for a stray shower. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Some scattered afternoon showers. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
