Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, May 23, 2023:

(Photo Source: Stephen Yang of The Cortland Voice).
Winds will be from the south today, leading to warmer temperatures and a small chance for a stray shower or thunderstorm.
There will actually be two periods when a few spits of rain will be possible.
First will be this morning as a warm front lifts north through the area. Any showers that pop up during this time will be small, brief, and extremely isolated.
Second will be during the afternoon, when a couple of pop-up showers will be possible. A couple claps of thunder may even develop.
Between both opportunities for rain, most areas will probably end up remaining dry. Those that do see rain will only see minimal amounts over a brief period of time.
South winds will blow at around or under 5 mph most of the day. Nonetheless, temperatures will make it into the mid 70s this afternoon.
Tonight, skies will generally be clear, but some occasional clouds may drift through. No precipitation is expected.
Evening temperatures will drop into the upper 50s and overnight lows will reach around or just above 50 degrees.
Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:
Wednesday: More clouds than sun. Some scattered afternoon showers. Morning lows near 50. Midday highs in the low 70s, with afternoon temperatures falling through the 60s.
Thursday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
Friday: Sunny with a few clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
