Today will be a sunny but chilly day as Canadian high pressure builds in behind yesterday’s cold front.

Clouds will be very limited today. Sunny, blue skies will be commonplace. Even the persistent wildfire smoke will have been carried away by the front.

North winds on the frontside of the high will blow at speeds up to 10 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph. These winds will continue to import cool air into the region.

Afternoon highs will mostly be in the upper 50s, which is about fifteen degrees below average. Higher elevations may not get much beyond 55 degrees.

Clear skies and light winds tonight will allow temperatures to drop to the low and mid 30s overnight. With lighter winds than last night, patchy frost will be more common.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low and mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Monday: Sun and a few clouds. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
