Temperatures will start to trend the other way as cooler air starts to build in today.

It will still be plenty warm today, just not as hot as the last several days.

The temperature will be quick to rise this morning, but then will reach a high point in the early afternoon before holding steady thereafter. Look for highs to be in the upper 70s with a few hilltops sticking closer to 75 degrees.

The subtle frontal boundary responsible for breaking the heat will have some clouds associated with it this morning. A stray shower cannot be totally ruled out, but any rain that falls will be very isolated and very light.

Sunshine will increase through the morning and the afternoon should be mostly sunny.

The cooler air will move in on a steady northeast wind that will blow at around 10 mph. Gusts will top out at 25-30 mph during the afternoon.

Tonight, skies will remain clear and winds will lose some of their speed. Temperatures will fall into the 50s this evening and into the mid 40s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Monday: More clouds than sun. Maybe some late showers. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Tuesday: Clouds, some sun, and afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Wednesday: Clouds, some sun, and afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.
