High pressure will be firmly in control of the region today, keeping the weather dry and the temperatures warm.

Sunshine will be abundant throughout the day. Some thin clouds and fair weather clouds will mix in at times. No precipitation is expected during the daytime hours.

A light southwest wind will blow with speeds around 5 mph. That will help to bring in some of the warmer air.

Afternoon highs should top out in the mid to perhaps upper 80s. Dewpoints will vary between the upper 50s and mid 60s, so it may feel a bit muggy at times.

A complex of thunderstorms will develop over the Upper Great Lakes later Wednesday and may bring some rain and thunder to our area overnight. The best chance for this will come after midnight.

Nighttime temperatures will remain mild with lows only in the mid 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: More clouds than sun with some showers and storms possible. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Friday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs near 90.

Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
