Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, August 8, 2023:

Low pressure will track just north of the area today as it meanders to the east.

Clouds will be plentiful through the day today with the low nearby.

A few scattered showers will be possible during the morning. As morning turns to afternoon, the showers will increase. On and off showers will be numerous through the afternoon.

A few rumbles of thunder or even some small hail will also be possible, but isolated.

The rain should end by the early evening. Nighttime skies will gradually become partly cloudy, if not mostly clear at times as the low departs.

Winds will shift from the southwest this morning to the west, then northwest this afternoon. Wind speeds may be over 10 mph at times with a few gusts over 25 mph.

The clouds and showers will hold temperatures down. Most areas should be near or slightly above 70 degrees, but a few of the hill tops may not escape the 60s.

Nighttime temperatures will fall through the 60s and into the mid 50s by Wednesday morning.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. A few showers or storms possible. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs bear 80.
