Most of today will be dry until the next storm system moves in late.

After some areas of patchy fog early this morning, sunshine will begin to mix with fair weather clouds during the latter half of the morning. Skies will remain mixed through the midday and afternoon hours.

No rain is expected through 5 PM. After that, there will be a growing chance for showers and thunderstorms. The best chance for rain will come after sunset and through the overnight.

Severe thunderstorms are not expected, but some locally heavy rain from repetitive thunderstorms could produce some localized, mainly minor flooding concerns.

Southwest winds will increase through the morning and become blustery by the afternoon. Wind speeds of 10-15 mph will be possible with a few gusts flirting with 30 mph.

The sunshine and southwest winds will push temperatures upward with highs generally at or above 80 degrees. A few hilltops may not quite make it to 80 degrees.

It will remain mild and muggy tonight, with evening temperatures barely getting below 70 degrees. Overnight lows will eventually make it to the low 60s as the rain pulls out in the predawn hours.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Sunny periods and cloudier ones. A few early showers, and maybe another shower or two late. Some breezy northwest winds. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs around 70.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a stray shower early. Some breezy northwest winds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs around 70.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs near 80.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a brief, passing shower. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
