The Homer Lady Trojans fell 0-2 at home against Westhill Tuesday night.

This was Homer’s first loss of the regular season, making them fall to a 2-1 overall record.

It was a tough first half for the Lady Trojans, as they fell to 0-2 before halftime.

Homer tried to get back in the game in the second half, but their offensive efforts were not enough.

Defensibly, Homer’s backline and goalkeeper Alexandria Kellaway held Westhill scoreless in the second half.

“Westhill was a tough team to play,” said Kellaway. “We played hard. It was a very defensive game.”

“It didn’t end up in our favor, but there were a lot of successes within it,” added Homer head coach Ben Bowers. “That was kind of what I said to the team at the end. We’re down 0-2 at the half, and we held a very good Westhill team to 0-0 in the second half. Not that it’s a win on the scoreboard, but it shows success. We kind of really had one opportunity, but it was a good one. We need to play a little bit better, and realize our jobs and discipline. Good things were happening and will continue to happen. I'm sure of it.”
