Man allegedly strangled victim in altercation (County Sheriff)

A man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly strangled a victim in an altercation, according to a report.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report stated that William F. Brown, 63 of Scott, allegedly “did injure and choke” the victim during a physical altercation.

Brown was arrested on Saturday (Sept. 23) and charged with third-degree assault (a Class-A Misdemeanor) and second-degree strangulation (a Class-D Felony). He is currently being held at Cortland County Jail, awaiting an appearance in Scott town court for Tuesday (Sept. 26) at 5 p.m.
