Cincinnatus girls soccer sits high in first state rankings

NYSSCOGS recently released its first state rankings of the season for girls soccer.

According to the rankings, the Cincinnatus girls soccer team is ranked third in the state in Class D. Cincinnatus sits behind Section V’s Fillmore and Section IV’s Milford, both 9-0 and ranked one and two, respectively.

The Lions are coming off a 2022 campaign where they finished as a Class D state finalist and compiled a 21-1 record. The 2022 season also included winning the Section III Class D title and making it to the state final for the first time in the program’s history.

Other Section III teams ranked in the state in Class D are Bishop Ludden at No. 4 (6-0), Copenhagen at No. 7 (5-1-1) and Belleville-Henderson at No. 20 (5-2).

Cincinnatus hosts Otselic Valley at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
