A new weather system will move into the area this evening, but most of the daytime hours should be quiet.

Skies will be mostly cloudy throughout the day. The best chance for any glimpses of sun or some filtered sun will be during the morning hours.

There will be a small chance for a brief shower during the mid to late afternoon as an initial impulse of energy passes through. Most areas will not see any rain, though.

The rain chances will increase substantially during the evening hours. Widespread showers will move through, a couple of which could have some briefly heavier rainfall rates.

Most of the showers will pass through in a couple of hours, but a few additional, lighter showers will be possible through the overnight.

Winds will be from the south today our ahead of this system, peaking in the mid to late afternoon around or slightly above 10 mph. South winds of 10-15 mph will continue into the evening, possibly with a few gusts to 30 mph.

The south winds will help afternoon highs to get near or slightly above 50 degrees. Evening temperatures will drop back to the mid 40s, but overnight temperatures will then warm back to the upper 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Periods of rain showers, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. Some evening rain possible. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Thursday: Morning clouds. Maybe some afternoon sun. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Friday: Mostly cloudy. Maybe some rain. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
