Our next weather maker will arrive this afternoon with some rain showers.

Skies will be mostly cloudy this morning, though a few breaks of sunshine here and there will be possible. No precipitation is expected during the morning hours.

Scattered showers will move in during the afternoon. Between the showers, a few glimpses of sunshine may be possible.

None of the rain should be overly heavy, and individual showers should not be long lasting. However, the off and on nature of the rain will persist through the afternoon and into the nighttime hours.

Some wet snow may mix in with some of the rain overnight.

Winds will be from the south with speeds of 5-10 mph. By evening, west, then northwest winds will take over. The wind will increase after midnight, with speeds over 10 mph.

Cool air will remain entrenched over the area with highs mainly in the mid and upper 40s. Highs in the 50s will not be too far to the west, so there is a slim chance that the warm air could make a stronger push and briefly push temperatures to near or above 50 degrees.

Evening temperatures will quickly drop to around 40 degrees with overnight lows settling in the mid 30s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Morning showers. Maybe some late sun. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Wednesday: Clouds and some sun. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Thursday: Sunny with a few stray clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Friday: Increasing clouds with late rain. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
