The New York State Police is reminding community members to lock their car doors.

State Police noted in a release that they have recently received numerous reports of car thefts.

“Criminals walk past vehicles and when they find one unlocked, they take change or valuables,” stated in the release.

State Police also reminded community members to take their keys when leaving their vehicle, and to “never leave anything valuable behind.”

“These criminals are looking for easy snatch and grabs. Don’t become their next victim,” noted in the release.
