An area of high pressure will pass through the region today, bringing quiet weather and slightly warmer temperatures.

The only chance for a stray flurry today will come early in the morning. However, winds will already be shifting from the northwest to the west, so any light lake effect snow will be lifting north.

As winds continue to turn, they will end up from the southwest by the late morning. This will fully remove any lake effect from the area and will allow some warmer air to seep in.

Skies will end up as a mix of sun and clouds. Many of the clouds will be thin, allowing for at least some filtered sunshine. Other times, the sky may be blue.

Later in the afternoon, the clouds will thicken and remain in place for much of the night. Some clearing is possible during the predawn hours.

Temperatures will reach a high in the mid and upper 30s this afternoon. Winds will be under 5 mph, if not completely calm at times.

Temperatures will fall into the upper 20s this evening with an overnight low in the mid 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Some early sun, then increasing clouds. Evening rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs around 40.

Monday: Mostly cloudy with a few showers or flurries. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Tuesday: Occasional lake effect snow showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Wednesday: A few snow showers, mostly early in the day. Morning lows near 20. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.
