Southwest winds will take hold today, but temperatures will not be much warmer, yet.

A few flurries will be possible this morning as lake effect snow swings from south to north. These flurries would be from Lake Erie, and thus are only expected to be light and sporadic.

Skies will remain cloudy through the morning and into the afternoon. A few additional flurries will be possible, especially in the afternoon. These will be the first sign of warmer air starting to push toward the region.

Cold air will still solidly be in place, though, with afternoon highs only around 30 degrees.

Skies will remain mostly cloudy this evening with temperatures dropping to the mid 20s. However, temperatures will not drop any further, even as skies clear after midnight.

Southwest winds will blow through the day and night. Daytime wind speeds will be around 10 mph, while nighttime winds will be slightly less.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Friday: Cloudy with occasional rain. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs near 40.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs near 40.

Sunday: Cloudy with some rain late. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
