A new area of high pressure will move in from Canada today, interrupting the flow of mild air in from the southwest.

As this new high pressure system moves in, clouds will be more plentiful today as slightly cooler air sneaks in with it.

Winds today will be nearly calm during the morning hours but will then pick up from the southeast during the afternoon. Wind speeds will remain light at around 5 mph.

Skies will be mostly cloudy throughout the day, but no precipitation will fall. Some occasional breaks of sunshine, or some sunshine filtering through thinner clouds, will be possible. This will especially be possible in the morning hours.

Temperatures will be well above average today with highs in the low and mid 40s. Evening temperatures will drop to the upper 30s, where they will hold steady overnight.

Clouds will increase and thicken during the nighttime hours. The southeast wind will also increase, reaching speeds of 10-15 mph. The northern hills will have the strongest winds.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Mostly cloudy. Showers around sunset turning to steady rain overnight. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Monday: Periods of rain. Morning temperatures in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs falling to the low 40s.

Tuesday: Much colder with some snow showers. Temperatures in the mid to upper 20s most of the day.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 30s.
