High pressure will deliver a quiet but cold day today.

Southwest winds will keep lake effect snow out of the area and may even keep some of the cloudiness at bay.

Skies will be a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day. The further south, the greater the chances for sunshine.

The southwest winds will be a bit blustery with speeds around or just over 10 mph. Top gusts on the day should be between 25-40 mph.

These will be cold winds, though. High temperatures will mostly be in the mid 10s this afternoon.

Tonight, clouds will gradually build in from the north as winds shift slightly more towards the west-southwest. Wind speeds will be just under 10 mph.

Temperatures will initially drop to near or just over 10 degrees. However, temperatures should come back up to the mid 10s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Cloudy with some light snow late. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid 20s.

Friday: Cloudy. Possibly some light snow early and some lake snows late. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the low 20s.

Saturday: Cold and breezy with lake effect flurries and squalls. Morning lows in the mid 0s. Afternoon highs in the mid 10s.
